Update, I guess
So I’m back on gluten. SCORE!! My stomachaches came back and I figured I was justified in eating wheat again. Oh bread, sweet bread, I love you.
Yummy breakfast I made continued
So I made the same yummy breakfast that I blogged about yesterday but with one amazing addition.
I went to the farmers market this weekend and bought garlic and herb cream cheese. I added this to my english muffin, egg, tomato combo.
It may sounds weird but it was super yummy. You could also substitute herb goat cheese and probably get the same effect.

-1 Babybel cheese thing
-way too many mini ritz crackers
-one bowl of pho from the new vietnamese place
-one half of a crappy spring roll (honestly, how is it possible to mess up a fried roll of vegetables?)
-one tall non-fat-no-foam latte with an extra shot
Am at work now trying not to eat out of pure boredom. I have a bunch of fruit and vegetables in the fridge here. All I want is a big...

Yummy Breakfast I made
Toasted a whole wheat english muffin.
Meanwhile, scrambled one egg +egg white, to which I added: sea salt, hot sauce, and fresh basil.
Put egg mixture on english muffin along with a slice of tomato and covered the whole thing with black pepper.

Update!
No dairy yet, though I got so frustrated on Friday that I came very close to turning to my old comfort food, chocolate ice-cream, for solace. Wound up eating chocolate soy cream and watching horrible reality TV instead.
The rest of the weekend was okay, though I ate cookies for breakfast on Sunday.

Higlights: what I ate this weekend
Things that were so good they’re bad:
Like three huge chunks of homemade bread (oops, gluten). And a cupcake with, of all things, FROSTING. Fuck the frosting, people, just fuck it. Fried risotto balls. Stuffed mushroom caps. DQ PUMPKIN PIE BLIZZARD.
Things that were just bad:
Wendy’s fries (hey, at least no gluten!).
Things that were unexciting:
Champp’s chipotle ranch salad...
What I would eat right now if I could eat gluten

I made a super yummy dinner
So clearly everyone needs to know about the yummy dinner I made last night and am no re-eating today for lunch.
Catfish: I put cajun bread crumbs from Trader Joes on it and sauteed it with lemon slices and tomato, jasmine rise and a huge salad. I then had yogurt and strawberries for desert and felt very virtuous and proud of myself.

I want something exciting for dinner/dessert. Instead I am just pounding down crunch n’ munch like it is my job. I hate when my officer manager buys that stuff. The temptation to go into the bathroom and eat the whole box by myself is just too strong. Way too strong.

On hobo beans
So, when my boy (let’s call him “A”) cooks, he makes these canned green beans which I have come to affectionately call “hobo beans.” That’s because I imagine hobos would cook them over an open fire and then use the empty can for… whatever it is that hobos use cans for.

Yeah I have noticed that lots of other countries sell it in the bag form. We still have gallons of milk but they are made of plastic….
Butternut Squash Soup
1. Take one butternut squash, slice in half and remove seeds and gross stringy stuff.
2.) Put Squash in a baking pan with some water (water should not cover squash, you only need about an inch).
3.) Put cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt on the squash and bake at 400 until the squash is soft (apx. 45 mins)
4.) Take half a white onion and two cloves of garlic and saute.
5.) Add squash and 4 cups...
Interesting. I wonder why that is. Maybe Canadians drink more milk. Apparently we also consume more Kraft Dinner (macaroni and cheese) per capita than any other country. Gross.

Yummiest Breakfast Ever
Oh yum. Today was a good morning.
I had greek fage yogurt, with homemade granola, strawberries, and honey. And a big cup of coffee.
For those of you who read this blog you will know that I am generally freakishly hungry by 10am but its 9:50 right now and I have not started preparing my morning snack so I may just have found the perfect breakfast.

Week 2 of the Couch-to-5k running plan
Let’s see if it’s as easy as Week 1.
Consumed today:
Breakfast: 2 hardboiled eggs, fruit salad (no wheat!)
Lunch: turkey rice soup, side salad with cottage cheese
Dinner will be hard to plan since when I bought groceries this week, I was not planning to be gluten free.
