Okay, so, I’m committing to this Healthy Eating thing. Last night I went to Whole Foods and dropped $100 on, like, spelt and whatever. Biggest purchase of the night? Massive amounts of dairy-free products. I’ve been meaning to go dairy-free for a long while now, since, seeing as I’m lactose intolerant it can’t be a bad idea, but something stops me every time. Often that “something” is the fact that cheese is so ridiculously delicious, but, more and more frequently, it’s yogurt that pulls me off the path to righteousness. Or whatever. So! This time! I’m trying non-dairy yogurts.
ATTEMPT 1: TURTLE MOUNTAIN’S SO DELICIOUS COCONUT MILK YOGURT.
I had the raspberry kind. I’ll give it, maybe, three and a half stars. The texture is pretty great, the consistency is fine, it tastes a little like coconut, and the raspberry flavor isn’t half bad. I’d be interested in trying a banana flavor, cause if there’s one fake fruit flavor I love, it’s banana, or maybe pina colada. Neither exists, of course, but they ought to consider it. Work with what you’ve got, y’know? Anyway, it’s worth trying. It’s got cultures and everything. And, I mean, no soy, which is sweet for those of you who are opposed to soy. 140 calories, 60 from fat; 6 grams of fat per serving which is, I know, a lot, but it’s COCONUT. That business is all fat, don’t fool yourself.
This concludes my first-ever food review.
